In a discussion dated 2022-07-08, the linked China-market report raised this issue: An owner reported scheduled home charging stopping and later restarting, sometimes leaving insufficient charge in the morning. This is an individual account, not a confirmed diagnosis or failure-rate finding. The steps below use the export handbook.

Checks to make while safely parked

1. 1Confirm which timer is activeOpen the Smart Charging app icon, or Settings → Energy → Charge/Discharge, and inspect scheduled charging. Record the car’s and wallbox’s windows rather than assuming an app reminder shows every control affecting the session.
2. 2Check the equipment instructionsConfirm the charger’s authentication and vehicle-timer support. Do not defeat authorisation, change wiring or add an external mains timer in response to an owner comment.
3. 3Test immediate charging safelyFor a session you need now, use the immediate-charge option. To cancel future schedules, turn scheduled charging off in its settings; a reminder override affects only the current schedule.
4. 4Keep a session recordNote the plug-in time, start, interruption, restart, battery percentages and visible errors. Use the charger’s normal event history if available; do not measure mains wiring yourself.

Check the result and know when to stop

If it stops again, follow the manual’s charging-fault guidance and ask the charger supplier or BYD to investigate. The 2022 China-market post does not prove a current export firmware defect. A full battery, supply interruption and a charging-system warning require different responses.
