How to use wireless phone charging in a Kia EV4
Position matters on the EV4 wireless charging pad. Check its indicator and the phone’s own charging status before assuming that simply placing a phone in the storage area has started charging.
Checked against the MY2027 English owner manual for this model on 27 October 2026. Equipment and software can differ; use the instructions and controls fitted to your own vehicle.
Place one Qi-compatible smartphone in the centre of the fitted charging pad. The indicator turns orange when charging starts; green can indicate completion, although some phones do not show that change.
Before you start
Remove coins and other metal objects from the pad. Check that wireless charging is enabled in infotainment if needed; this page does not provide a fixed menu path.
Follow these steps
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
Charging can pause because of heat or vehicle-state changes. A phone running apps may warm faster; remove it from the pad to cool if necessary. Keep magnetic cards away from the charging area.
Common questions
Does an orange light always mean a fault?+
Steady orange indicates charging; the manual separately describes an orange flashing fault sequence.
Why does green never appear?+
Some supported phones may not change the pad indicator to green even when charged.
