How to use the rear defroster in a 2024 Nissan Rogue

When cleaning inside the rear glass, avoid damaging its heater conductors. Heated exterior mirrors are optional equipment.

Start the engine and press the rear-window defroster switch. Its indicator shows activation, and the function also heats the exterior mirrors where that equipment is installed. The automatic shut-off is approximately 20 minutes after activation.

Step by step

1Start in a ventilated placeStart the engine normally and locate the rear-window defroster switch. Do not run the engine in an enclosed space.
2Activate heatingPress the switch once and check the indicator. Allow the glass to clear before relying on the rear view.
3Finish heatingPress again to turn it off early, or allow the approximately 20-minute timer to switch it off automatically.
