Step by step

1Prepare your phoneSign in to the Tesla app for this vehicle. Enable phone Bluetooth, Bluetooth permission for the app and Location > Always. In the car, enable Controls > Safety > Allow Mobile Access.
2Select the carMake sure the correct vehicle is selected in the app.
3Start setupTap Set Up Phone Key, or Security > Set Up Phone Key, and follow both screens.
