How to lock the rear window switches in a Kia EV4

The driver can stop rear passengers from operating their window switches with a dedicated lock button. This is useful when someone in the rear might press a switch unintentionally during a journey.

THE QUICK ANSWER

Press the power-window lock button to disable the rear passenger window controls. The manual says the front driver and front passenger windows can still operate.

Before you start

Park before identifying the control on the driver door. Check the window area is clear and explain the change to passengers so they understand why their rear switches will not respond.

Follow these steps

Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.

Check the result

The expected result is a disabled rear passenger control, with the front window controls still available. Keep checking the openings before any window movement; locking a switch does not establish that a window is closed.

Common questions

Does this close the rear windows?+

The documented action disables their passenger controls; close and check the windows separately.

Does it disable the front passenger window too?+

The EV4 page says the front driver and passenger windows can still operate.
