How to change driving mode in a Kia EV4
The EV4 drive-mode button changes the vehicle’s documented driving characteristics. Available choices depend on specification, so read the mode displayed by your car rather than expecting every manual entry on every trim.
Checked against the MY2027 English owner manual for this model on 27 October 2026. Equipment and software can differ; use the instructions and controls fitted to your own vehicle.
Press DRIVE MODE and check the selected mode on the vehicle display. The manual describes ECO, NORMAL, SPORT and other equipment-specific modes; a separate GT button applies to GT equipment.
Before you start
Learn the control while parked and choose a setting suitable for the road conditions. Changing the mode does not remove the need for appropriate speed, grip and normal driving care.
Follow these steps
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
ECO prioritises electric economy, NORMAL covers ordinary road use, and SPORT changes motor and steering response. Do not infer that an absent specialist mode can be enabled with a hidden command; follow the fitted specification.
Common questions
Will my selected mode necessarily survive a restart?+
No. Kia describes NORMAL or ECO on restart depending on region.
Does every EV4 have a GT button?+
No. The separate GT control and mode belong to GT equipment.
