How to reduce washer-fluid smell in a Kia EV4
An equipped EV4 can briefly use cabin recirculation when the windscreen washer operates. This setting is intended to reduce washer-fluid scent entering through the ventilation intake.
Checked against the MY2027 English owner manual for this model on 27 October 2026. Equipment and software can differ; use the instructions and controls fitted to your own vehicle.
Enable Settings > Vehicle > Climate > Climate features > Activation on washer fluid use. With the vehicle in POWER ON or DRIVE READY, washer operation can then trigger recirculation automatically.
Before you start
Check that this option exists on your specification. Set it while parked, and keep the windscreen clear of people or objects before testing the washer spray.
Follow these steps
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
The ventilation intake should switch to recirculation during the documented washer-linked action. In cold weather, moisture can collect on the windows; Kia says to use the front-windscreen defroster if this happens.
Common questions
