How to set welcome lights on a Kia EV4
Welcome lighting can illuminate the outside of an EV4 as you return to it. The manual gives separate unlock and approach choices, together with lighting and vehicle-state conditions that affect a test.
Checked against the MY2027 English owner manual for this model on 27 October 2026. Equipment and software can differ; use the instructions and controls fitted to your own vehicle.
Go to Settings > Vehicle > Lights > Welcome mirror/light and choose On door unlock or On driver approach, using the options fitted to your vehicle.
Before you start
Check this while parked. For the documented exterior-light sequence, the vehicle is off with all doors closed and locked, and the lighting switch is on; AUTO operates only at night.
Follow these steps
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
The manual describes approximately 15 seconds of exterior illumination. A daylight test with AUTO selected does not establish that the setting has failed; match the stated conditions before troubleshooting.
