How to restore automatic climate control in a Volvo EX60
After several manual adjustments, returning to Auto is a useful way to let the climate system manage its functions again. Check the mode before changing more temperature or fan settings.
Checked against the US EX60 2027 manual on 27 October 2026. Match the controls to your car and use its current in-car instructions if a software update changes the screen.
Press the fan symbol in the bottom bar and select Auto. The system then controls several climate functions automatically.
Identify which mode is currently active
Make the adjustment while parked. Check your desired temperature first so you have a clear result to assess. Returning to Auto is more deliberate than changing several air-distribution controls without knowing which state you started from.
Choose automatic operation
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
If Auto turns off again
Deselecting A/C or pressing the lower-body, upper-body or windshield air-outlet symbols deactivates automatic climate mode. Check the last control you used before assuming the car has forgotten your selection. Return to the climate view and select Auto when you want automatic control again.
Common questions
Does switching air conditioning off keep Auto active?+
No. The cited instructions say that deselecting A/C deactivates Auto.
Can I still choose a temperature in Auto?+
Yes. The manual specifically lists temperature among the settings you can change while using automatic climate mode.
