How to activate eco climate in a Volvo EX60
Eco climate is a deliberate trade-off between cabin comfort and the vehicle’s energy priorities. Check what the mode changes before choosing it for a trip with passengers.
Checked against the US EX60 2027 manual on 27 October 2026. Match the controls to your car and use its current in-car instructions if a software update changes the screen.
Press the fan symbol in the bottom bar, then select the eco climate symbol. This limits climate functions to prioritize vehicle range.
Keep visibility and passenger comfort in view
Make the change while parked. Consider the conditions outside and whether the windows are already misting. Do not let a range-oriented setting distract from maintaining clear glass and suitable cabin conditions.
Enable the eco climate mode
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Know the documented limitations
Heating, cooling and air-conditioning functions are limited. Volvo notes that fogging may occur because humidity control is reduced, and increased recirculation can affect air quality, especially in the rear. Reconsider the setting if conditions no longer suit it.
Common questions
Does eco climate simply switch the entire climate system off?+
The source describes limits on heating, cooling and air conditioning rather than saying every climate function is off.
Why might the windows mist more easily?+
The manual warns that the air-conditioning function responsible for humidity control is limited in this mode.
