How to heat the rear window and door mirrors in a Volvo EX60
Rear-window and mirror heating has a separate climate control from front max defrost. Start with that dedicated control when those surfaces need clearing.
Checked against the US EX60 2027 manual on 27 October 2026. Match the controls to your car and use its current in-car instructions if a software update changes the screen.
Press the fan symbol in the bottom bar and select the rear-defroster symbol. That activates rear windshield and door-mirror heating.
Check which glass needs clearing
Set the function while parked and confirm whether the problem is at the rear glass, mirrors or front windshield. Keeping those functions separate helps you understand what the selected button will do before you set off.
Use the rear heating control
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
If you use the overhead-console button
The overhead defroster button operates both front max defrost and rear-window/mirror heating. If either is already activated through the display, it adds the second function; pressing again turns both off. Note which control you used when checking the result.
Common questions
Do I activate the mirror heating separately from the rear glass?+
The cited rear-defroster control activates rear windshield and door-mirror heating together.
Why might rear heating start automatically?+
Check the cold-condition automatic activation choice in climate settings before treating that behavior as a fault.
