XPENG G6 wireless phone charging is slow or stops: what to check

When one phone charges poorly while another works, compare phone compatibility and pad placement before treating the entire charging system as faulty. The maximum advertised pad output is not a guaranteed rate for every phone.

Checked on 27 October 2026 against XPENG’s 2025 English LHD G6 manual for XOS V5.8.0, printed pages 274–276. Chinese-market owner reports identify the question; they do not establish a common defect, a guaranteed fix, or matching export equipment. Stop if your car’s controls differ.

THE QUICK ANSWER

Enable the required charging zone in Charging and Discharging → Power Supply. Place a compatible phone screen-up at the bottom stop of the pad, remove metal-containing cases or accessories, and keep the cooling outlet clear.

Before you start

Park before repositioning the phone. Remove coins, cards and other metal objects from the charging area and the back of the phone. If the phone is unusually hot, stop charging and let it cool normally before testing again.

Check the result

A stable charging indication and a rising phone battery level provide a better test than a brief animation. Persistent failure or unusual heat needs service attention; stop using the affected pad. Do not keep a fully charged or unattended phone heating on it.

Chinese owner report — anecdotal context

A Chinese G6 owner reported repeated charging interruptions with one handset while several other phones worked. This is an individual compatibility report, not evidence that a particular phone brand always fails. Report dated 2024-04-10; domestic-market anecdote.

Common questions

Will every phone charge at 50 W?+

No. The manual states a maximum output; actual compatibility and charging behaviour depend on the phone.

Can key detection pause charging?+

The manual lists a vehicle key-search event among conditions that can interrupt wireless charging.
