How to reduce XPENG G9 display brightness at night
The G9’s displays do not all need the same brightness. If the instrument panel is comfortable but another screen feels glaring, use its own slider and then check the selected display mode.
Checked on 27 October 2026 against XPENG’s 2025 English G9 manual for XOS V5.6.0, printed pages 33. Chinese-market owner reports identify the question; they do not establish a common defect, a guaranteed fix, or matching export equipment. Stop if your car’s controls differ.
Open Settings → Display and adjust the brightness control for the affected screen. The manual lists separate main, instrument and passenger-display controls, together with day, night and adaptive day/night modes.
Before you start
Park in conditions similar to those causing the discomfort. Note the original settings and preserve clear visibility of speed, warning messages and other driving information. A black, flickering or unresponsive panel is a different issue from excessive brightness.
Adjust the affected display
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
You should have comfortable screens with clearly visible essential information. If adaptive mode behaves unexpectedly, record the lighting conditions and the current XOS build. Do not treat a preference change as evidence that an intermittent display fault has been repaired.
Chinese owner report — anecdotal context
A Chinese G9 owner tutorial describes an instrument display that feels too bright at night. Its domestic settings are not copied; the international V5.6.0 display page verifies the controls above. Report dated 2023-08-31; domestic-market anecdote.
Common questions
Can I adjust only the passenger screen?+
The cited handbook lists a separate passenger-entertainment-screen brightness control where that screen is fitted.
Will a software update leave these menus identical?+
Not necessarily. Match the installed software and current in-car instructions if the layout changes.
