How to connect a device to the XPENG G9 Wi-Fi hotspot
If a passenger’s device cannot find the G9 hotspot, check the car’s hotspot switch and band. A domestic casting-app workaround is not the control path documented by the international English handbook.
Checked on 27 October 2026 against XPENG’s 2025 English G9 manual for XOS V5.6.0, printed pages 62–63. Chinese-market owner reports identify the question; they do not establish a common defect, a guaranteed fix, or matching export equipment. Stop if your car’s controls differ.
Open Settings → Device Connection and enable the car hotspot. Choose 5 GHz first where supported, or try 2.4 GHz for compatibility. On the passenger device, select the car’s network and enter its displayed password.
Before you start
Park before setup, check that the service is available for your local specification and tariff, and keep the network password private. A visible Wi-Fi connection does not itself prove that the vehicle’s upstream internet service is working.
Enable the hotspot and test a device
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
The intended device should stay connected and access the permitted online service. If the hotspot control is absent on your car, check the current local handbook and support. Do not assume that a Chinese app feature or included-data offer is available internationally.
Chinese owner report — anecdotal context
A Chinese G9 owner could not find a hotspot setting and described a casting-app method on domestic Tianji software. The international V5.6.0 manual documents Device Connection instead. Report dated 2024-05-26; domestic-market anecdote.
Common questions
Why try 2.4 GHz?+
The manual recommends 5 GHz first and describes 2.4 GHz as compatible with more devices, with reduced network performance.
Does this connect the car to my phone hotspot?+
No. Here a passenger device joins the car’s hotspot. Connecting the car to a phone uses the wireless-network client setting.

Where this guide comes from
Operating steps are checked against manufacturer documentation; Chinese owner discussions are labelled as anecdotal reports. They identify questions, not the prevalence or cause of a fault. Reviewed on 27 October 2026. This is a source-based guide, not a claim of hands-on vehicle testing.
