How to use the heated steering wheel in a Kia EV2

The steering-wheel heater has a visible indicator and automatically changes its heat level during use. Use those cues rather than expecting the strongest level to remain active indefinitely.

THE QUICK ANSWER

With POWER ON or DRIVE READY selected, press the steering-wheel heating button. To turn it off, hold the button until its indicator goes out.

Before you change the setting

Locate the heater button before starting your journey. Check that the heating equipment is fitted and that the steering-wheel surface has no damage. Make the initial setting while parked so you can observe its indicator.

Work through the controls

Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.

Check the result

An automatic reduction in heat is expected behaviour, not proof of a broken heater. The weak level can remain until the vehicle is turned off unless you change it. Avoid placing or using sharp objects against the heated wheel surface.

Common questions

Why did the heat become weaker after a while?+

Kia documents a reduction from strong to weak after approximately 30 minutes.

What confirms that I have switched it off?+

The documented switch-off cue is the heater-button indicator going out.
