How to use reverse mirror tilt in a Kia EV2

The mirror-selector position determines whether an equipped EV2 lowers its mirrors when Reverse is selected. A neutral selector can therefore explain why they stay at their normal angle.

THE QUICK ANSWER

For the documented reverse parking aid, select L or R on the mirror-adjustment switch. Both outside mirrors tilt down when the car is in Reverse; leaving the selector neutral prevents that tilt.

Before you change the setting

Check that the car has the reverse parking aid equipment. Set the selector while parked, keep the brake applied and check the surroundings before selecting Reverse. Mirror tilt supplements the normal checks needed for reversing.

Work through the controls

Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.

Check the result

The manual lists leaving Reverse and deselecting the mirror switch among the conditions that return the mirrors to their original position. If only the switch position changed, check it before assuming that a mirror motor has failed.

Common questions
