How to lock the rear window switches in a Kia EV2
The driver’s window-lock button changes who can operate the rear windows. It is separate from locking the doors, so check this button when rear passenger switches appear unresponsive.
Checked against the MY2027 English owner manual for this model on 27 October 2026. Equipment and software can differ; use the instructions and controls fitted to your own vehicle.
Press the driver-door power-window lock button into its locked position. The rear passengers’ window controls are disabled; the front passenger retains control of their own window.
Before you change the setting
Park before checking which controls respond. Keep the windows clear of hands and objects. A window-control lock does not replace supervision, and children must never be left alone in the car with the keys.
Work through the controls
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
If a rear passenger says the window switch no longer works, check the driver’s lock setting before assuming a fault. Do not operate driver and passenger switches in opposite directions at the same time, and check every opening before raising a window.
Common questions
Does this also disable the front passenger’s switch?+
The manual says the front passenger can still operate their own window.
Does pressing the button lock the rear doors?+
This guide concerns the window-switch lock. Door locking is a separate control.
