How to reset a one-touch window in a Kia EV2
If an automatic window is not operating normally, the EV2 manual provides a short reset. Prepare the window opening first because the anti-pinch protection is unavailable during the reset.
Checked against the MY2027 English owner manual for this model on 27 October 2026. Equipment and software can differ; use the instructions and controls fitted to your own vehicle.
Select POWER ON or DRIVE READY, close the window, then keep pulling its switch up for at least one second after the glass is completely closed.
Before you change the setting
Park and make sure hands, clothing and all other objects are clear of the glass. This procedure is for an equipped automatic window. Kia warns that automatic reversal does not work while resetting, so never test it using a body part or object.
Work through the controls
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
The reset is a control procedure, not a repair for a damaged mechanism. Keep the area clear during both reset and subsequent checks. An automatic window can also respond differently from a manual first-detent operation, so compare the switch position you are using.
Common questions
Does anti-pinch work during this reset?+
