How to charge a phone wirelessly in a Kia EV2
For the EV2’s fitted wireless pad, phone position and a clear charging surface matter. Check the indicator so a phone resting on the pad is not mistaken for a phone receiving power.
Checked against the MY2027 English owner manual for this model on 27 October 2026. Equipment and software can differ; use the instructions and controls fitted to your own vehicle.
Close all doors and start the vehicle. Clear the charging pad, then place one compatible Qi phone in its centre. An amber indicator shows charging has started.
Before you change the setting
Confirm that the phone supports Qi wireless charging and that the vehicle has the wireless-pad equipment. Set it up before driving. Remove coins, the smart key and other objects from the pad; metal between the phone and pad can heat up.
Work through the controls
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
A thick case, high temperature or an interruption such as opening a door can affect charging. Do not diagnose a failed pad solely because the light did not turn green: Kia notes that some phones do not show that completion indication. Check the phone’s own battery display as well.
Common questions
Can I leave coins beside the phone on the pad?+
Remove them. The manual warns that metal can interrupt charging and become hot.
Does green always appear when a phone is full?+
No. Some phones may not produce the green completion indication.
