How to check Plug n Charge in a Kia EV4
The Plug n Charge menu lets you check the contract behind automatic billing. It is worth reviewing this information before repeatedly trying a DC session that cannot authorise itself.
Checked against the MY2027 English owner manual for this model on 27 October 2026. Equipment and software can differ; use the instructions and controls fitted to your own vehicle.
Open Electric Vehicle → Plug n charge in the infotainment system. Check whether the feature is enabled and review the contract company and expiry date shown in its contract-management view.
Before you change the setting
Use this only if the vehicle and charging service support PnC. Check the provider’s contract instructions before expecting automatic billing. The menu does not create a valid agreement simply by turning the feature on.
Work through the controls
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
Kia warns that leaving the feature enabled without a contract can cause charging problems. An expired certificate can prevent automatic billing. Resolve the contract with the provider before treating every failed authorisation as a vehicle or cable problem.
Common questions
Should I switch it on without a PnC agreement?+
The manual recommends turning it off if you have no PnC contract.
Does an expired certificate matter?+
Yes. The renewal instructions say automatic billing will not proceed with an expired certificate; use an external payment method while its status is checked.
