Leapmotor C10 automatic high beam not working: IHBC checks

Automatic high beam is conditional. An enabled IHBC setting does not mean the main beam should stay on whenever the road looks dark.

Checked against the English BEV manual linked below. China-market reports identify the owner question; they do not establish an export defect, a recall or a guaranteed fix. Match the handbook and equipment in your car, and follow current on-screen instructions where software differs.

THE QUICK ANSWER

Check the IHBC control under Settings → Lights and understand that it switches according to ambient brightness and detected traffic. Use the lighting stalk manually whenever required; do not test by expecting high beam in front of another vehicle.

The China-market owner report

A C10 owner asks why automatic high beam only switches occasionally. The same post gives no repeatable conditions, so it cannot show whether the system was working normally or had a fault.

Before you start

Review the setting while parked. The export manual calls IHBC an aid and gives the driver priority over its selection. Traffic conditions and visibility still require your judgement.

What to check

Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.

Check the result

The aim is predictable lighting and clear understanding of the selected mode. Remain ready to switch beams yourself without dazzling others; enabling IHBC does not guarantee visibility in every situation.

Common questions

Does IHBC remove the need to use the stalk?+

No. The driver remains responsible for selecting an appropriate beam.

Can the Chinese forum confirm the export car has a defect?+

No. Different software and incomplete test conditions prevent that conclusion.

Where this guide comes from

Operating steps are checked against manufacturer documentation; Chinese owner discussions are labelled as anecdotal reports. They identify questions, not the prevalence or cause of a fault. Reviewed on 27 October 2026. This is a source-based guide, not a claim of hands-on vehicle testing.
