Create a personal MBUX routine in a Mercedes GLB electric
A routine combines a condition with one or more actions. Start with a small comfort adjustment so you can recognise what the car is proposing before adding more actions.
Procedure checked against the September 2026 electric GLB X244 manual published by Mercedes-Benz Ireland. The actions available depend on fitted equipment and software. A massage action shown as an example does not mean every GLB has massage seats.
Open the Routines app and choose Create routine. Add a condition, choose an available action and select Continue. Pick a symbol, enter a recognisable name and select Create routine again to save it.
Decide what should trigger the routine
Set up the routine while parked. Write a short description such as “on selected weekdays, use this comfort setting”. The manual gives examples of conditions based on weekdays, locations and outside temperature. Use the choices offered by your car rather than assuming every example is present.
A personal routine is different from a suggestion learned by the Virtual Assistant. You do not need to wait for the system to discover a repeated action before opening the routine creator.

Check the notification before relying on it
The creation instructions say a notification appears when the conditions are met and the routine can be started. The overview also describes timed notifications for activated learned suggestions. Read the prompt you receive; do not assume that saving every kind of routine causes every action to run immediately.
You can edit a created routine later. If its timing or action is wrong, revise the saved routine instead of adding a second nearly identical one.
Common questions
Are all the comfort actions available in every GLB?+
No. Choose from your car’s actual action list. A named example in the manual is not confirmation that the corresponding equipment is fitted.
Must I enable learned suggestions to create my own routine?+
The manual presents creating your own routines, selecting templates and accepting learned suggestions as separate ways to obtain a routine. This guide uses the manual creator.
Can I change the name or actions later?+
The manual confirms that a created routine can be edited at any time. Open its controls in the Routines app and review the revised result.
