How to set the charging limit in a Mercedes GLB electric
Looking for the percentage at which your new electric GLB should stop charging? Start with the State of charge control in the car, rather than a charging-current setting on the wallbox.
Checked against the September 2026 GLB electric X244 manual published by Mercedes-Benz Ireland. This is a battery-percentage setting for the new electric model, not instructions for the older petrol GLB or EQB. Equipment and regional software can differ.
On the central display, open Charge & service → Charging options → State of charge and choose the maximum percentage offered by your car. The manual says this limit cannot be adjusted while Electric Intelligence is in use.
Identify the limit you want to change
Make this setting while parked. Decide how much charge you need for the next journey before choosing a percentage. The vehicle limit and the wallbox current are different controls: one concerns the battery level, while the other concerns the electrical supply.
This guide explains the menu. It does not prescribe one percentage for every journey or establish a universal battery-care recommendation.

Common questions
Can I use this to select an 80% limit?+
Use the percentage choices offered on your vehicle’s display, selecting 80% if it is available and suits your charging plan. This guide does not establish that every market or software version offers identical increments.
Does lowering the limit remove charge already in the battery?+
No discharge procedure is described here. The documented effect of choosing a target below the current battery level is to cancel charging after the confirmation message.
Is this also a charging schedule?+
No. A maximum battery percentage is not a start-time or electricity-tariff schedule.
