Set the tyre type for your Mercedes GLB electric range forecast
Changed to winter tyres but still seeing the previous selection in the car? The new GLB electric has a tyre-type setting that supplies information to its energy forecast.
Checked against Mercedes-Benz Ireland’s September 2026 electric GLB X244 manual. This is an energy-forecast setting. It does not approve a tyre, set its pressure, or reset the tyre-pressure monitoring system.
With Navigation with Electric Intelligence available and activated in the Mercedes-Benz Portal, open Settings → Vehicle → Tyres → Tyre type. Select the type actually fitted, such as Winter tyres.
Confirm what is fitted
Make the change while parked. Use the tyre information from your wheel change or ask the tyre retailer if you are unsure which category applies. Choose a label that describes the fitted tyres instead of selecting one because its range prediction looks better.
The manual requires the Navigation with Electric Intelligence Digital Extra to be available and activated in the Mercedes-Benz Portal. A general navigation screen is not confirmation that this requirement has been met.
Update the tyre selection
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
What the setting changes
The selection helps Navigation with Electric Intelligence form its energy prediction at the start of a journey, including its selection of charging stops. If you do not select a tyre type, the system instead bases that prediction on vehicle configuration and the time of year.
It is an input to a forecast. It cannot guarantee a particular real-world range or compensate for tyres that are unsuitable, incorrectly inflated or damaged.
Keep pressure and tyre type separate
For pressure, use the vehicle’s tyre-pressure table on the driver-side B-pillar and match the actual tyre size and loading condition. Do not treat a change in the Tyre type menu as confirmation that tyre pressure is correct.
Common questions
Will choosing Winter tyres add range?+
It supplies more relevant information to the energy forecast. It does not physically increase the battery capacity or guarantee extra miles.
Why is there no Studded tyres option?+
The manual says available categories depend on country and equipment; studded tyres are an additional option only in some countries.
Does this clear a tyre-pressure warning?+
No. This is a tyre-category selection for energy forecasting. Follow the vehicle’s pressure instructions and investigate a pressure warning separately.
