How to activate the max defroster in a Polestar 5
Use the dedicated defroster when condensation or ice is obscuring the windscreen. Its stronger airflow is a planned part of the demisting response.
Checked against the UK model-year 2026 Polestar 5 manual on 27 October 2026. Match the display and fitted equipment to your car before following these instructions. Optional comfort features may be absent.
Press the fan symbol in the climate bar, then the max-defroster symbol in the climate view. The system increases fan speed and temperature and activates A/C.
Before you start
Remain parked until you have the visibility needed to drive. Identify the max-defroster control rather than changing several unrelated climate preferences.

Check the result
Fan noise increases with the higher speed. Recirculation is unavailable while max defroster is active; after the defroster is turned off, the earlier climate settings return.
