How to change the ambience lighting in a Polestar 5
Use the named colour themes to choose the cabin ambience. Keeping this separate from reading-light controls makes it easier to find the setting you intended.
Checked against the UK model-year 2026 Polestar 5 manual on 27 October 2026. Match the display and fitted equipment to your car before following these instructions. Optional comfort features may be absent.
Open top-bar settings → Settings → Interior → Lights → Ambience and select one of the named colour themes.
Before you start
Make the selection while parked. Look at the theme choices available in your car rather than expecting a particular list copied from another Polestar model.
Follow the controls
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
The selected theme is the ambience choice for the cabin. If your aim is a brighter reading lamp, use that lamp’s separate control instead.
Common questions
Does this change the map or system language?+
Neither is part of the documented ambience procedure. It selects an interior-lighting theme.
Is this a reading-light brightness slider?+
No. This page concerns named ambience colour themes. Reading lights use their own buttons or touch panels.
