How to adjust the reading lights in a Polestar 5
The front and rear reading lights use different kinds of controls. A short press changes whether a light is on; holding the control changes its brightness.
Checked against the UK model-year 2026 Polestar 5 manual on 27 October 2026. Match the display and fitted equipment to your car before following these instructions. Optional comfort features may be absent.
Use the front overhead button or rear touch area beside the required reading light. Press to switch it and hold the same control to adjust brightness.
Before you start
Identify the individual lamp you want to change. The front controls are in the overhead console, while the rear reading lights sit above the rear doors.
Follow the controls
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
Check the individual lamp rather than assuming all cabin lights changed together. This workflow concerns reading lights, not a change to the ambience colour theme.
Common questions
Are rear lights controlled exactly like front ones?+
The manual describes front buttons and rear capacitive touch areas. Each controls the adjacent reading light.
How do I dim a light?+
Press and hold its button or touch panel. A normal press switches it on or off.
