How to change the system language in a Polestar 5
Choose a language you can read confidently, including warnings and notifications. The language menu is a system-wide setting rather than just a keyboard choice.
Checked against the UK model-year 2026 Polestar 5 manual on 27 October 2026. Match the display and fitted equipment to your car before following these instructions. Optional comfort features may be absent.
Open top-bar settings → Settings → General → System → Language and input → Language, then select the language you understand.
Before you start
Park before changing the display language. If another person helps translate the current menu, keep them available until you have checked the new language.
Follow the controls
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
Read a familiar menu after the change. Polestar specifically warns that the selected language must be fully understood because the car uses it for safety-related messages.
Common questions
Should I select a language just to practise it?+
Use one you fully understand. The manufacturer’s warning concerns understanding safety-critical information at all times.
Is keyboard language the same setting?+
This procedure changes the car’s system language. It does not describe adding another keyboard layout.
