How to schedule overnight charging in the Polestar 5

A saved time window and an active timer are separate things. This checklist covers both, so the next overnight connection uses the days and hours you intended.

For the 2026 Polestar 5 UK owner-manual interface. The documented timer controls AC charging. Check the time window against your own electricity tariff; the car does not make an unsuitable window cheaper.

THE QUICK ANSWER

Go through top-bar settings → Settings → Charge → Car → Schedule charging. Use the three-dot control to set times and days, then activate Schedule charging.

Check the charging type and chosen days

Use this procedure for an AC connection, such as a compatible home wallbox. Write down your intended start and stop times first. If your tariff changes by day, check that the selected days fit that plan rather than enabling a daily schedule automatically.

Save and activate the timer

Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.

Charging outside the usual window

Press Schedule charging again to disable the timer when it is no longer required. The manual states that DC charging overrides this AC schedule. Do not expect an overnight AC timer to delay a DC session.

Common questions

Is saving the times enough?+

The documented sequence also requires activating Schedule charging. Check the schedule shown in the charging view.

Will this timer hold back a DC fast charge?+

No. The manual says the schedule applies to AC; DC charging overrides it. Follow the charging station’s instructions for the DC session.
