How to change the AC charging amp limit on a Volvo EX60
A low current setting is worth checking when home charging seems slower than expected. First establish the permitted current for your charging installation.
Checked against the US EX60 2027 support page updated June 1, 2026. The correct current depends on your installation and equipment. This guide does not prescribe a universal amperage.
Select the vehicle symbol → Charging → Amp limit, then adjust the value. This control applies to AC charging; the charger, cable and vehicle can impose lower limits.
Know the permitted current first
Use the limit specified for your charging equipment and installation. If you do not know it, ask the installer or equipment provider before increasing the setting. A menu value does not establish what the electrical circuit can safely supply.
Adjust the AC current limit
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
If the car still charges below that value
The selected value is a ceiling. The charging station, cable or vehicle may allow less. The setting remains saved until changed, and a location-specific limit can apply automatically at that location. You can also adjust it in the Volvo Cars app.
Common questions
Will this increase DC fast-charging speed?+
No. The documented Amp limit control is for AC charging.
Should I always choose the highest value?+
Choose a value suitable for the installation. If you are unsure of the permitted current, verify it with the installer rather than guessing.
