How to share a phone’s internet connection with a Volvo EX60
A phone can be paired for vehicle functions without its mobile internet being shared. For internet access through that phone, the EX60 provides a separate Bluetooth tethering control.
Checked against the US EX60 2027 manual on 27 October 2026. Match the controls to your car and use its current in-car instructions if a software update changes the screen.
Pair the phone first. Open vehicle symbol → Connectivity → Bluetooth, select the tethering symbol for the chosen phone and press Accept. The symbol changes color when tethering is active.
Check the mobile-data terms first
Your phone must already be connected to the car by Bluetooth. Sharing its internet uses mobile data, and the provider may restrict tethering or charge for it. Check the plan before activating it, especially if you are traveling.
Enable internet sharing for the paired phone
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Keep the connection and the app separate
After activation, check the online function you intended to use. If you need help, note that the phone is paired and whether the tethering symbol is active. Those observations are more useful than repeatedly describing the issue as “Bluetooth not working”.
Common questions
Do I need to pair the phone before enabling tethering?+
Yes. The documented procedure starts with an existing Bluetooth connection.
Is the vehicle internet then free?+
The phone’s mobile-data conditions apply. Volvo notes that providers can limit this use or charge extra.
