How to schedule overnight AC charging on an XPENG G6
A plugged-in G6 may wait deliberately if scheduled charging is enabled. Set one clear charging window and check the wallbox schedule before treating that waiting state as a connection fault.
Checked on 27 October 2026 against XPENG’s 2025 English LHD G6 manual for XOS V5.8.0, printed pages 305–306. Chinese-market owner reports identify the question; they do not establish a common defect, a guaranteed fix, or matching export equipment. Stop if your car’s controls differ.
Open Settings → Charging and Discharging → Charging, enable Slow Charging Appointment and set the charging time. The G6 manual warns that the charging-post schedule must be disabled in its phone app when using the car’s schedule.
Before you start
Use a properly installed compatible AC charger and check the actual cheap-rate hours in your electricity tariff. Allow enough time to reach the selected target. The Chinese owner’s local tariff and wallbox setup are examples, not settings for your home.
Let one schedule control the session
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
Check the morning battery percentage and session record against the window and target. If the car did not start, record both schedule settings and any charger message. Check scheduling before changing cables or recreating accounts.
Chinese owner report — anecdotal context
A Chinese G6 owner describes using overnight home charging for an off-peak tariff. Their routine raises the same scheduling question, while the international handbook supplies the control names and schedule-conflict caution. Report dated 2024-06-13; domestic-market anecdote.
Common questions
Can both the car and wallbox have schedules?+
The cited G6 manual warns against leaving the charging-post schedule active when using the car’s booking function.
Does an overnight schedule guarantee a full battery?+
No. Available power, window length and the charge limit still determine the result.

Operating steps are checked against manufacturer documentation; Chinese owner discussions are labelled as anecdotal reports. They identify questions, not the prevalence or cause of a fault. Reviewed on 27 October 2026. This is a source-based guide, not a claim of hands-on vehicle testing.
