How to set the charging limit on an XPENG G6
If the G6 stops charging before the percentage you expected, check its target before assuming the charger is faulty. The correct routine target depends on your exact battery and the recommendation shown by the car.
Checked on 27 October 2026 against XPENG’s 2025 English LHD G6 manual for XOS V5.8.0, printed pages 299–300. Chinese-market owner reports identify the question; they do not establish a common defect, a guaranteed fix, or matching export equipment. Stop if your car’s controls differ.
Open Settings → Charging and Discharging → Charging, then adjust Charging Limit. The car stops at that target. If Battery Health Protection is selected, the manual says the limit returns to its default after the vehicle is powered again.
Before you start
Park and identify the target percentage currently shown. Use the recommendation for your vehicle instead of copying a domestic owner’s battery-specific percentage. Check that the intended target leaves enough energy for the next journey, weather and charging availability.
Set a target and verify what is saved
Tick steps as you go. Your progress stays in this tab.
Check the result
The stored target should match your intended session. A session ending at the selected percentage is different from one interrupted by a fault. Record any fault message separately rather than raising the target repeatedly to make charging continue.
Chinese owner report — anecdotal context
A G6 owner discussion describes a daily charge target for a particular domestic battery variant. Its percentage is not presented as the universal recommendation for exported G6 batteries. Report dated 2026-05-21; domestic-market anecdote.
Common questions
Why did my limit return to its original value?+
The cited manual describes this behaviour when Battery Health Protection is enabled.
Should every G6 use the same percentage?+
No. Follow your exact vehicle’s recommendation and battery documentation; domestic variants and export specifications differ.
